Aloha Festivals P.O. Box 15945 Honolulu 96830 Hawaii's biggest (and possibly best) festival ends up on Maui after starting in Oahu one month earlier and traveling to each of the less-populated neighbor islands. Exhibits, shows and street parties occur throughout the Valley Isle. Past themes include 'Ka 'Uhane o ka Loea', which means 'The Spirit of the Masters' in English. It honored great crafters, artists and artisans of Hawaii's past and present. All events from August to October are free and staffed by volunteers. Call or check the Web site for more information. It also offers writers a chance to relax and find inspiration in one of the world's most beautiful places.
