Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has introduced a new self-guided cultural preserve tour. The tour brochure invites guests to explore the culture with the Hawaiian greeting “E pili mai,” welcome, come connect and feel Keauhou.
Culling through archives of cultural surveys conducted in the area years ago and utilizing the knowledge and wisdom of people such as Lily Kong, a kupuna (elder) of Keauhou, Sheraton Keauhou Bay can explain many seemingly strange and random rock formations that line the Keauhou Bay side of the resort grounds.
“We accepted the responsibility of acknowledging, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Keauhou with our guests and our associates,” shared Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa general manager Tetsuji Yamazaki. “Many individuals had a hand in seeing this project through to fruition, and to each of them I extend my mahalo on behalf of every guest and associate who will now have a new appreciation for this special place.” For more information, please visit www.sheratonkeauhou.com.
