Spa at Black Rock at Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa
The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa has recently opened its first full-service spa, Spa at Black Rock. The spa features seven luxurious treatment rooms available for massages, body treatments, facials, skin enhancements, manicures and pedicures. The Spa at Black Rock focuses on the rejuvenating qualities of the sea and incorporates various elements of the ocean, including plants, minerals and salt water, into the signature treatments and exclusive products. Signature treatments include the Puu Kekaa Stone Massage, Banana Shea Wrap, Balancing Facial and the Sole Smoothie Foot Massage. The Oligo Seawater Therapy uses seawater to provide re-mineralizing properties, ideal for boosting energy levels after momentary bouts of fatigue. Each product combines natural ocean plants, minerals and water with essential oils of Polynesia to create a truly authentic tropical spa experience. A line of exclusively designed Black Rock Spa products, featuring a signature mango pomegranate scent, is available for purchase by guests who wish to recreate the experience at home.
Heavenly Spa by Westin™ at The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, Maui
The Heavenly Spa by Westin™ opened its 10,000-square-foot plush facility in May 2008. It is the second Heavenly Spa to open not only on Maui but anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands. The full-service spa features 13 treatment rooms including a couples “treehouse” massage suite, hydrotherapy rooms, sauna, steam rooms and two courtyard massage cabanas located in an intimate outdoor setting.

The spa also offers traditional services including massage, body treatments, facials, manicures and pedicures.
An in-room spa program is also on offer, bringing the personalized luxury and comfort of a full-service spa to the privacy of your room. As part of the hotel industry’s first global in-room spa program, the experience includes a luxurious yet portable spa bed and a spa basket filled with sensory items to be enjoyed before, during and after the treatment.
Additionally, spa guests have access to the 24-hour WestinWORKOUT® fitness center. Other property amenities include the beautiful recreation lagoon, heated swimming pool and four outdoor whirlpools.
Moana Lani, A Heavenly Spa by Westin™ at Moana Surfrider - A Westin Resort & Spa, Oahu
Moana Lani, A Heavenly Spa by Westin™ opened its 17,000-square-foot beachfront facility on October 1, 2008, the only oceanfront spa in Waikiki. A tranquil place where both Hawaiian healing traditions and innovative Westin spa rituals inspire the spirit, Moana Lani is a spa blessed with history and significance as the hotel is located on the site of the natural healing spring, Apuakehau. Moana Lani, meaning “heavenly ocean” in Hawaiian, provides a medley of Hawaiian cultural services combined with Westin rituals, inviting guests to discover moments of peace and pampering. The full-service spa offers an extensive range of services including massages, full body treatments, facials, manicures and pedicures, all served with breathtaking views of world-famous Waikiki Beach. Custom spa services offered at Moana Lani Spa include the traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Ola massage, which incorporates a healing prayer that is chanted at the beginning and completion of the treatment; “Ka Ua Lomi” gentle rain massage; and the signature “Rollerssage,” which makes hot stone therapy a totally new experience. Each treatment room features a wooden bowl of alaea – Hawaiian sea salt, renowned for its restorative powers. Guests are invited to leave their worries behind by placing them in a bowl of salt. The salt is collected following the treatment and scattered into the ocean, carrying guests’ troubles out to sea. The Moana Lani Spa is the only spa with practitioners that have trained with kumu (master teachers) whose lineage is traced from “Kahuna Lomi Lomi.” The spa also offers “Yogaloha” classes on the beach fronting the resort – a graceful blend of yoga and hula.
Spa Khakara at Sheraton Waikiki, Oahu
The Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s luxury Abhasa Spa now has a stylish sister, Spa Khakara. In November 2008, Venere Corporation, which also owns Abhasa, opened a second spa next door on the fourth floor of the 1,636-room Sheraton Waikiki. Spa Khakara, meaning “excellence” in Sanskrit, provides a fresh, organic ambience, imaginative and genuinely soothing spa treatments, and aromatherapy experiences to nurture rejuvenation and relaxation. You can cultivate an exquisite feeling of excellence while enjoying one of the spa’s signature treatments such as “Khakara Harmony,” a Hawaiian-inspired Lomi Lomi massage infused with Japanese shiatsu – a modern medley of East and West. Pressure is applied to tsu-bo points along the meridian of your body, followed by a rhythmic Lomi Lomi to melt toxic tension away. Tempt your senses with this truly unique Island experience. The 6-000-square-foot Spa Khakara features elegant woodwork accents with organic elements to complement the contemporary ambience and facilities of the Sheraton Waikiki. The boutique spa includes two soothing steam rooms and eight treatment rooms including four intimate couples treatment rooms. Throughout 2009 Sheraton Waikiki is offering a Nurture Package that includes a $150 credit at Spa Khakara.
These four new spas will join the following collection of Starwood spas in Hawaii:
